A Letter To Juliet

Posted by joeytearjerky at 11:46 AM 0 comments
When I was young, I'd longed for a guy best friend because I'm really really really curious about what they think, how they act on a given situation, what makes them happy..things like that. I just want to know them beyond the image that the were trying to show the world. Unfortunately, I never had one. I've had a few guy friends but no best guy buddy.

Then I saw this on one my friends' notes in FB. (Yep! FB na naman!:D Hindi naman halatang babad ako sa Fb e no?:P) This is a letter for all the girls from, well, the guys. Wala lang, I just thought that girls should really read this so we know the what's and what-not's about the guys. ;)

Dear Girls,

Don't assume we won't care where you are, because we do. It makes us feel secure to know that our girlfriends aren't off flirting with guys we've never heard of.

Also, don't talk about your ex-boyfriends. We never have, nor ever will respect or like them, nor do we want to hear about them. When you do, you're asking your boyfriend to be jealous. You're asking your boyfriend to lose trust.

On that, don't hump everything that walks into the room. We don't care if you talk to other guys. We don't care if you're friends with other guys. But when you're sitting next to us, and some random guy walks into the room and you jump up and tackle him, without even introducing us, yeah, it pisses us off. It doesn't help if you sit there and talk to him for ten minutes without even acknowledging the fact that we're still there.

Also, when we tell you you're pretty/ beautiful/ gorgeous/ cute/ stunning, we freaking mean it. Don't tell us we're wrong. We'll stop trying to convince you. The sexiest thing about a girl is confidence. Yeah, you can quote me.
Don't be mad when we hold the door open. Smile and say "thank you." Let us pay for you. Don't "feel bad." We enjoy doing it. It's expected. Smile and say - everybody together now - "thank you."

Kiss us when no one's watching. If you kiss us when you know nobody's looking we'll be more impressed.

You don't have to get dressed up for us. If we're going out with you in the first place, you don't have to feel the need to wear the shortest skirt you have, put on every kind of makeup you own. We like you for WHO you are and not WHAT you are.

Don't flirt with guys when we're not around. We'll find out. Trust us. We have eyes everywhere. And when we find out, we're pissed. Not necessarily with the guys you flirted with, more-so with you.

Don't take everything we say seriously. Sarcasm is a beautiful thing. See the beauty in it. Don't get angry easily. Stop using magazines/media as your bible.

Don't talk about how hot Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt is in front of us. It's boring, and we don't care. You have girlfriends for that.

Whatever happened to the word "handsome"? Why does everything have to be "hot/sexy"? I'd be utterly stunned by a girl who greeted me with "Hey handsome!" instead of "Hey baby/ stud/ cutie/ sexy" or whatever else you can think of. Claiming girls or guys to be "hot" shows immaturity.

Girls, I cannot stress this enough: if you aren't being treated right by a guy, don't wait for him to change. Ditch his sorry, disgrace-to-the-male-population ass, and find someone who will treat you with utter respect. Someone who will honor your morals. Someone who will make you smile when you're at your lowest.

From Us,
The Guys

Saturday Surprises

October 23, 2010

It was around ten-ish in the morning that day when I got the surprise of my life when my bestest friend, Margret called me up and asked if we could see each other later that day; after what? 5 months of not seeing each other? And only had an occassional-texting-to-each-other and poking-back-each-other-in-Facebook type of communication? Wow! I was like, yay! Hallelujah! :D

Well, it's not that we're contented with just that, a'right? It's just that we're both busy and preoccupied with a lot of things in our lives; she, with her work in Accenture and me, with studies.

I remember the last time we saw each other was last May this year, when I celebrated my birthday with her and my family. ;) So the thought of finally seeing and having to bond with each other, again, after a looong while got me thrilled and super excited that I immediately agreed to meet up with her. :)

Fast forward to the date and place we met. Well, we had the usual greeting, just like whenever we saw each other in the university grounds: the tight hug, the oh-so-familiar high-pitched "Nay!" endearment she used to call me way back when we were still in highschool and until now, and the megawatt smiles plastered in our faces! Walang nagbago. :)

So where did the surprises spring from? Ito na. The first surprise was: a shirt from Artwork! As far as I can remember and if I'm not mistaken, it's still half-a-year away until my next birthday but Margs announced that, apparently, it was my birthday that day. Yeah. She can do it! :)
I don't hate surprises but I abhor being surprised. Don't get me wrong, I just dislike the feeling of not knowing something everyone already knew except me. For me, that was like you just alienated me from your world.. or something like that! Hahaha but then again, I loved it! It's so sweet that I found the hard time to yell at her. Chos! :P Since it was my birthday according to her, she gave me a gift. This cutie girly shirt from Artwork which looks exactly the same shirt she wore that day, only the color is different! Hahaha! (FYI: When she was still in college, we both bought a shirt in Artwork! As in parehong-pareho!:D)
Thank you, again, Margs for this! :)

But wait! Thre's more! She also gave me chocolates! Yay, sweetness! ;) And she also treated me to a movie house. Since the film we want to watch wasn't showing in SM Manila Cinemas anymore, we headed to MOA instead. Luckily, the film that we both like to see; The Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole was still being showed there. So, being the Owl City-fangirl that we are, she immediately bought tickets for both of us. It was our first time to watch a film on 3D hahaha! So basically, it was an all-fun experience for both of us! :D And I'm glad we have each other to share that same feeling. Too bad I wasn't able to bring a camera. The unprofessional blogger that I am. :(

Anyways, we really loved the soundtrack for this movie. :)

I enjoyed this movie a lot. It's a good watch! :)

There are so many things we did that day that we did for the first time. I'm just like tinatamad na mag-type hahaha! :P Oh, we ate pala at Greenwich before going home. We tried the Top That Pizza and wham! We didn't able to finish it. We just couldn't. It's huge! But it was yummy! ;)

So there goes the very surprising Saturday of my life. That's the best Saturday I've ever had this year, actually.  By the way, kamusta naman? Over 1 month after, saka ko pa lang nagawan ng blog ito. Hahaha! Excuse my lazy blogging updates. :)

Thank God I'm a Filipino!

Dahil may hangover pa ako sa pagkapanalo ni Pacman kanina for his 8th World Boxing title, e ito ang resulta: a blog about him.:)  Naks! Fan?:D

Oo naman. Fan ako ni Manny Pacquiao. Proud ako dun! Why not?

Seriously speaking though, Manny Pacquiao is one of the many reasons why I'm proud to be Pinoy; among Charice Pempengco, Efren PeƱaflorida, Efren Bata Reyes, Lea Salonga, Lino Brocka, Francis Magalona, Eraserheads, balot, sinigang, adobo, misa de gallo, Noli Me Tangere at El Filibusterismo.♥ In fact, I would love to live my second lifetime here in the Philippines given the chance. Seryoso. Walang halong biro. At mas lalong walang bakas ng pambobola. Mahal ko ang Pilipinas. Kahit, let's face it, mahirap lang tayo.
Always wear your FILIPINO PRIDE.

Bakit parang ang seryoso? Haha! Congrats uli sa Pambansang Kamao, Manny 'PACMAN' Pacquiao! You made all and every Filipinos proud! God bless. Congrats Pilipinas! Represent!!:)

To God be the glory! Thank God I'm a Filipino!♥

PS: Hinarbat ko uli to sa FB Notes ko. Hehehe!:)))

RTFTD!

Posted by joeytearjerky at 3:18 PM 0 comments
Hmm.. As fas as I remember, I should be thinking of a possible thesis title by now. But since myself and my brain is being stubborn and uh, lazy again, I ended up writing a note here. How's that? By the way, I'm using my phone to write right now :) Coolness much! So technically, this is my first note using my cp! I love technology :D

K. Back to my dilemma, I still don't have a thesis title proposal and my project study class is at 4pm later! Jeez. It's freaking the hell out of me! Could somebody please gimme an idea?? I'm really starting to get crazy and it's killing me. Chos. That's an exaggeration, yeah. That's just to prove my point.

And speaking of "point", lemme share to you the things I've learned last Saturday from Engr. Samson. He's our professor in CE Laws and Ethics. And gaahd, he's one helluva man! I mean, he's just too good to be an instructor. He's brilliant and I admire his disposition in life. :)

In just a matter of 3 hours, he had managed to give us 5 "pointers" or advices on how we can keep up with our course and eventually on our field, which is Civil Engineering. Here it is:

1. Be punctual. He said we have to learn to be punctual in every occasion, so that we won't be having a hard time being on time if we're already working. He said that it's the first most important thing to do. If want to gain the trust of our future employers, we must learn to be punctual. :)

2. No compromise. He said that if we want to really succeed in our field, don't compromise. And I honestly believe in this. No amount of money could and should buy your integrity.

3. Do not be intimidated by anyone. He said that we are in a "world" dominated by men. And men who are intimidating, at that. So if we want to be on top, he said we have to show the "world" that we are smart, but never too proud.

4. Don't lose hope. Once you lose hope, you lose your enthusiasm. This words strike me the most actually. He said that no matter how many times we fail, just stand up and try again. Amen. :)

5. You can dictate, but you must wait. He said that not just because we are going to be the engineers of the future, we have the right to just dictate everything and then we demand for an immediate result from our subordinates. Sure, we can dictate, he said but we must wait; because the finest things take time to build. :)

So there. Uhmmm.. About the title, since I can't think of a better title for this, I just abbreviated the title: Random Thoughts For The Day by Joeytearjerky:) I put for this particular note on my FB. Tutal uso naman ngayon yung acronyms e naki-in na lang din ako; like OMG (Oh my gosh/god), BV/GV (bad vibes/good vibes), FTW (for the win) at OMGCCDILG (Oh my gosh crushee's coming! Do I look good?) HAHAHA! Pauso ko lang yung huli. At pumapalya na rin ang utak ko kaya tama na ito. Ciao! :D

For Real?

Posted by joeytearjerky at 10:01 PM 0 comments
Recently, a friend of mine tagged me on one of her notes in Facebook, so I checked it out. Then I found out that there were a lot of other notes I'm tagged on that I've never read because they didn't appear on my Notifications' box! (Paging Facebook! :D)
And I particularly like this one. It's called The 99 Facts About Guys. Well, I don't really know if they were true, ok? I'm a girl, puhlease! :) But I enjoyed reading this and I actually learned to some of the things listed here. By the way, the notes below every fact were my reactions. Haha! Wala lang. I just felt like reacting. :P

The 99 Facts About Guys.

1. Guys don’t actually look after good-looking girls. They prefer neat and presentable girls.

--Hmmm.. Really? Maybe to some guys, yes. But not all of ‘em.

2. Guys love flirts.

--I know right?!

3. A guy can like you for a minute, and then forget you afterwards.

--So true. Most especially when they’re drunk :P

4. When a guy says he doesn’t understand you, it simply means you’re not thinking the way he is.

--The feeling is mutual. Hehehe ;)

5. “Are you doing something?” or “Have you eaten already?” are the first usual questions a guy asks on the phone just to get out from stammering.

--Hahaha! How come I haven’t realized that already?

6. Guys may be flirting around all day but before they go to sleep, they always think about the girl they truly care about.

--Ok. But a day is a day. Compare to just couple of minutes he’s thinking of the girl he truly cares about, that’s way too short a time!

7. When a guy really likes you, he’ll disregard all your bad characteristics.

--“Accept” is the right word, not disregard. When a guy really likes you, he’ll accept all your bad characteristics and understand that you’re not perfect.

8. Guys go crazy over a girl’s smile.
--Like how? I wanna see how they go gaga over a girl’s smile :D

9. Guys will do anything just to get the girl’s attention.

--And I know someone who has a very quirky way to do just that! ;)

10. Guys hate it when you talk about your ex-boyfriend.

--They do? Hmmmm.. Hahaha!

11. When guys want to meet your parents. Let them.

--Naman. That means he’s dead serious about you.

12. Guys want to tell you many things but they can’t. And they sure have one habit to gain courage and spirit to tell you many things and it is drinking!
--I don’t drink! Can’t they just do that over a bag of chips? Or bars of chocolates? :P

13. Guys cry!!!!!!!!

--Of course they do! They’re humans!

14. Don’t provoke the guy to heat up. Believe me. He will.
--What do you mean, heat up?

15. Guys can never dream and hope too much.

--So they leave that dreaming and hoping thing to the girls? Unfair! :D

16. Guys usually try hard to get the girl who has dumped them, and this makes it harder for them to accept their defeat.
--Yeah. Talk about monumental ego.

17. When you touch a guy’s heart, there’s no turning back.
--And that’s the most amazing thing on earth.

18. Giving a guy a hanging message like “You know what?!..uh…never mind!” would make him jump to a conclusion that is far from what you are thinking.
--That’s applicable to us, girls, as well. And we think worse than guys do!

19. Guys go crazy when girls touch their hands.
--Weh? I thought it’s the girls who act like that?

20. Guys are good flatterers when courting but they usually stammer when they talk to a girl they really like.
--I like that! ;)

21. When a guy makes a prolonged “umm” or makes any excuses when you’re asking him to do you a favor, he’s actually saying that he doesn’t like you and he can’t lay down the card for you.
--Ouch. Hahaha!

22. When a girl says “no”, a guy hears it as “try again tomorrow.”

--So that’s where the “kulit” comes in? Like! :P

23. You have to tell a guy what you really want before he gets the message clearly.
--Right. And the guys should do that as well.

24. Guys hate gays!

--TRUE! Guys who love gays aren’t guys at all. :P

25. Guys love their moms.

--They really do. My brother can attest to that! ;)

26. A guy would sacrifice his money for lunch just to get you a couple of roses.
--Really? What about DOTA?? :)

27. A guy often thinks about the girl who likes him. But this doesn’t mean that the guy likes her.

--What?! That’s.. crazy.

28. You can never understand him unless you listen to him.

--Which is true and goes the same with everybody.

29. If a guy tells you he loves you once in a lifetime. He does.
--And don’t make him repeat afterwards. I dunno why.

30. Beware. Guys can make gossips scatter through half of the face of the earth faster than girls can.
--Hahaha! I remember Jogger and Trigger! :D

31. Like Eve, girls are guys weaknesses.
--Hmmm..

32. Guys are very open about themselves.
--I don’t think so.

33. It’s good to test a guy first before you believe him. But don’t let him wait that long.

--Right.

34. No guy is bad when he is courting.

--Naman! DUH.

35. Guys hate it when their clothes get dirty. Even a small dot.
--Di rin! I know guys who like their clothes messy.

36. Guys really admire girls that they like even if they’re not that much pretty.
--True? Not all guys, I think.

37. Your best friend, whom your boyfriend seeks help from about his problems with you may end up being admired by your boyfriend.
--True.

38. If a guy tells you about his problems, he just needs someone to listen to him. You don’t need to give advice.
--Tama!

39. A usual act that proves that the guy likes you is when he teases you.
--Talaga? Hahaha! Na-excite? :D

40. A guy finds ways to keep you off from linking with someone else.
--By posing as your boyfriend in front of other people? Hahaha!

41. Guys love girls with brains more than girls in miniskirts.

--WEEEEHH??

42. Guys try to find the stuffed toy a girl wants but would unluckily get the wrong one.
--But the girl would find it sweet, still. Very movie-ish? ;)

43. Guys virtually brag about anything.
--What do you mean by virtually? Hehehe.

44. Guys cannot keep secrets that girls tell them.

--Like girls! :D

45. Guys think too much.

--But that doesn’t mean they care that much.

46. Guys’ fantasies are unlimited.
--Oh yes they are.

47. Girls’ height doesn’t really matter to a guy but her weight does!

--What the. I really need to lose weight! Meganon?? Hahahaha!

48. Guys tend to get serious with their relationship and become too possessive. So watch out girls!!
--Unlike.

49. When a girl makes the boy suffer during courtship, it would be hard for him to let go of that girl.
--Ows?

50. It’s not easy for a guy to let go of his girlfriend after they broke up especially when they’ve been together for 3 years or more.
--Yes. I’ve heard.

51. You have to tell a guy what you really want before getting involved with that guy.
--Of course. If you don’t want to end up brokenhearted.

52. A guy has to experience rejection, because if he’s too-good-never-been-busted, never been in love and hurt, he won’t be matured and grow up.
--No comment. Hehehe.

53. When an unlikable circumstance comes, guys blame themselves a lot more than girls do. They could even hurt themselves physically.
--We even put the blame on them. Tsk. Tsk.

54. Guys have strong passion to change but have weak will power.
--Because temptations are everywhere.

55. Guys are tigers in their peer groups but become tamed pussycats with their girlfriends.
--Hehehe!

56. When a guy pretends to be calm, check if he’s sweating. You’ll probably see that he is nervous.
--OH.

57. When a guy says he is going crazy about the girl. He really is.
--Tell me the symptoms that  a guy is going crazy over a girl. Chos. :P

58. When a guy asks you to leave him alone, he’s just actually saying, “Please come and listen to me.”
--True.

59. Guys don’t really have final decisions.
--Of course they have.

60. When a guy loves you, bring out the best in him.

--Sure, I will. ;)

61. If a guy starts to talk seriously, listen to him.
--Right. Because that is when you really get to know him. J

62. If a guy has been kept shut or silent, say something.
--Or he’ll go find someone to talk to.

63. Guys believe that there’s no such thing as love at first sight, but court the girls anyway and then realize at the end that he is wrong.
-- :)

64. Guys like femininity not feebleness.
--They like girls who act like girls.

65. Guys don’t like girls who punch harder than they do.

--Hahahaha!

66. A guy may instantly know if the girl likes him but can never be sure unless the girl tells him.
--Oh…

67. A guy would waste his time over video games and basketball, the way a girl would do over her romance novels and make-ups.
--That makes it even, I think. J

68. Guys love girls who can cook or bake.
--Says my mom. J

69. Guys like girls who are like their moms. No kidding!
--Really?

70. A guy has more problems than you can see with your naked eyes.
--They just don’t wanna talk about it.

71. A guy’s friend knows everything about him. Use this to your advantage.
--Hahahaha! Thank you for the tip ;)

72. Don’t be a snob. Guys may easily give up on the first sign of rejection.
--Patay tayo jan!

73. Don’t be biased. Try loving a guy without prejudice and you’ll be surprised.
--Tama!

74. Girls who bathe in their eau de perfumes do more repelling than attracting guys.
--True. Guys love girls’ natural baby scent. ;)

75. Guys are more talkative than girls are especially when the topic is about girls.
--Or about the girl he likes ;)

76. Guys don’t comprehend the statement “Get lost” too well.
--No they don’t.

77. Guys really think that girls are strange and have unpredictable decisions but still love them more
.
--Ika nga, can’t live with them, can’t live without them :)

78. When a guy gives a crooked or pretentious grin at your jokes, he finds them offending and he just tried to be polite.
--Hmmm..

79. Guys don’t care about how shiny their shoes are unlike girls.
--Hehe!

80. Guys tend to generalize about girls but once they get to know them, they’ll realize they’re wrong.
--Right. Don’t judge us right away!

81. Any guy can handle his problems all by his own. He’s just too stubborn to deal with it.
--Ok.

82. Guys find it so objectionable when a girl swears.
--Right. Like we are instantly turned off when they do.

83. Guys’ weakest point is at the knee.
--You sure? Haha!

84. When a problem arises, a guy usually keeps himself cool but is already thinking of a way out.
--Good.

85. When a guy is conscious of his looks, it shows he is not good at fixing things.
--Really?

86. When a guy looks at you, either he’s amazed of you or he’s criticizing you.
--What!?!

87. When you catch him cheating on you and he asks for a second chance, give it to him. But when you catch him again and he asks for another chance, ignore him.

--Right. Wag magpakatanga! :P

88. If a guy lets you go, he really loves you.

--I don’t think so.

89. If you have a boyfriend, and your boy best friend always glances at you and it obviously shows that he is jealous whenever you’re with your boyfriend, all I can say is your boy best friend loves you more than your boyfriend does.
--I’d love to have a guy bestfriend! :D

90. Guys learn from experience not from the romance books that girls read and take as their basis of experience.
--Like everybody does.

91. You can tell if a guy is really hurt or in pain when he cries in front of you!

--Oo naman. Umiyak na e. Chos.

92. If a guy suddenly asks you for a date, ask him first why.
--True. Know his motives first.

93. When a guy says he can’t sleep if he doesn’t hear your voice even just for one night, hang up. He also tells that to another girl. He only flatters you and sometimes makes fun of you.
--TAMAAA!!! I hate to admit this, but that’s their no. 1 weapon, flattery. And it works, right? Sucks.

94. You can truly say that a guy has good intentions if you see him praying sometimes.

--Why they can’t do that everyday? That would be more awesome!

95. Guys seek for advice not from a guy but from a girl.
--Oh yes. Because girls are smarter! :D

96. Girls are allowed to touch boys’ things. Not their hair!
--And until now, I still dunno why don’t want their hair to be touched!

97. If a guy says you’re beautiful, that guy likes you.
--I remember Bruno Mars. Wala lang. :)

98. Guys hate girls who overreact.
--Hala.

99. Guys love you more than you love them if they are serious in your relationships.

--And they should be always serious in every relationship they make.

Now guys, are these things for real? :)

Today Is For Reminiscing

Posted by joeytearjerky at 10:33 PM 0 comments
*This is my first post using my cp. Try lang. :)

To all my loved ones who had been separated to me, either by death, distance, or even lack of communication;

I want you all to know that I miss you. :(

Thank you for the good times we've spent together, more so the bad times which brought us even more closer. Thank you for the no-nonsense lessons in life you've taught me that help me to become wiser; for the life-changing words of wisdom you've shared that has been useful to me until now; and most of all, for the undying love and never-ending support you've given me that I know no life nor death nor distance can kill. :)

Thank you so much. If not for you, I would never be the 'Joey' that they knew today. ;)

With that, I pray for your utmost happiness wherever you are right now. And please, never ever ever forget that we never lost each other because you will always have a special place in my heart. And that you are always remembered. :)

I love you. <3 Till then. Au Revoir.

Love,
