Goodbye U92 And I Miss U!
Last September 30, U92 (92.3Mhz) --- probably the coolest thing that ever happened and ever grazed the face of the radio industry..so far :D --- bid their farewell and kissed the airwaves goodbye..for good. :(
I thought it was just some kind of an inside joke going on between the U92 DJs, and the station would just gonna be reformatted and things like that. Apparently, it was true. U92 really closed down. I gathered that some tv network bought the station and the former management (AYC) was replaced with a new management; and the station's format would be like that of an AM station, whatsoever. Whatever!
I know this is kind of weird. And you might tell in my face, "It's just a radio station, Joey! C'mon! Stop acting silly!" But what the heck? Now that U92 is officially off air, I feel terribly sad and so upset that I just want to blurt it all out! I dunno, really, this is the first time ever that I felt such a tight attachment to an fm station that it fascinates me, myself. Or maybe, its the jocks whom I felt an attachment to. I dunno! All I know is that I MISS U92! And man! This is hard!
I know you might find me ridiculous because for you it was just an fm station. But U92 had been a part of my everyday life for the past year and now that it was gone, it was like a part of me is taken away from me. :( Augh. *cry*
I'm just wondering...Why do good things always have to come to an end? Like U92? I mean, why not the bad things? Right? In that case we'll have a better, happier and more peaceful nation? Okay, I think that's a different story and requires a different blog entry, but I've a point there right? *TAMA! <--in full Angel-Rivero-accent;)* And seriously? Of all the radio stations in the Philippines, why U92? Why?
Don't mind me. I just miss U92 big-time. That's all.
PS: I know this blog entry is sort of overdue already, but what the eff! I'm talking about my favorite radio station here. This is a matter of life and death. Chos! FYI: This is the sole reason why I put up a blog. How's that?:D
